Meet Katherine
Therapist, Neuroscientist, Women's Health and Preventative Wellness Advocate
I feel that the ideal therapist meets you wherever you are. From there, they not only work to help you navigate the ups and downs of life, but also equip you with the appropriate tools to one day become your own captain – steering yourself through future trials that may come. My goal as a therapist is to walk alongside you and share clinical wisdom and perspective, with a compassionate and empathetic heart.
I think one of the most important things in achieving success in therapy, is the strength of the relationship between client and counselor. Developing this relationship, by embracing the trials of life together and walking through this journey with someone supportive by your side, is always my starting point. I want to know who you are, and instead of merely checking clinical boxes and giving you a label, I want to understand your story and help you to become the best version of yourself you can be.
Whether this occurs through navigating low-self esteem; figuring out ways to advocate for oneself at the workplace or with difficult family members; managing motherhood, infertility, postpartum depression, and pressure to juggle career and family; or recovery from relationship trauma, abuse, and assault, my clinical approaches inform my individualized techniques and treatment plans, specific to each client.

I am particularly passionate about women’s issues, trauma, emotional and relationship abuse, self-esteem, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, career pressure, and eating disorders. As a military spouse and Division 1 athlete for many years, I am also particularly passionate about these communities. My focus in sessions is centered around utilizing client-centered, trauma-informed mindfulness, empowerment theories, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to guide sessions. I encourage the development of an inquisitive, supportive, honest, open, warm, and safe environment – a place where both client and counselor can speak freely and find holistic care – treating mind, body, and spirit. I work with clients to develop a plan of attack and, over time, equip them with tools that will allow them to chart their own path forward, feel empowered to do so, and develop the autonomy to achieve their desired success and recovery goals. I am open to incorporating spirituality into our treatment plan when requested – and while I have experience working with and guiding all faith perspectives, my personal practice is informed by the Christian faith when desired.
